GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. – Authorities have identified the victim of an early Saturday morning shooting in the Oatland Community as Ricky Dixon, 22, of Georgetown, according to Coroner Chase Ridgeway.
The fatal incident unfolded at a local club on Fuzzy Drive, where Georgetown County deputies responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Dixon with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to formally establish the cause and manner of death.
Investigators have also identified 20-year-old Savion Grimmage as a person of interest in connection with Dixon’s shooting, officials revealed. Grimmage, who previously faced an attempted murder charge in April 2024, is being sought for questioning. In that earlier incident, Grimmage had exchanged gunfire on Exodus Drive, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. He subsequently pled guilty and received time-served credit for his sentence. Authorities are now seeking public assistance in locating him. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at 843-546-5102.
