The Camberwell Junior Football Club is grieving the tragic loss of James Sutherland, a gifted young athlete and beloved member of their community. James, a student at the Australian National University and an alumnus of St Kevin’s College, passed away by suicide, leaving family, friends, and teammates heartbroken.

Between 2021 and 2022, James proudly represented the Camberwell Sharks, playing 25 games across the U15 and U16 boys teams. His commitment, skill, and fierce determination on the field made him a vital contributor to the squad’s success. A standout moment in his sporting journey was helping the U16 team clinch the premiership in 2022 — a triumph fondly remembered by coaches and teammates alike.
