Fatal Dodge County Crash Claims Life of Samantha Pavelka; Christopher Murphy Hospitalized in Critical Condition


A devastating two-vehicle collision early Thursday morning in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, resulted in the tragic death of 35-year-old Samantha Pavelka of Beaver Dam and left 46-year-old Christopher Murphy of Portage critically injured.

The accident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. along County Highway A, just north of Breezy Point Road. According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Murphy was driving a 2011 BMW Alpina southbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with Pavelka’s northbound 2017 Kia Sorento. The force of the crash was severe, leading to life-threatening injuries for both drivers.

Emergency personnel responded swiftly. Christopher Murphy was airlifted by UW Med Flight to Aurora Summit Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Samantha Pavelka was transported to Marshfield Medical Center with serious injuries but tragically succumbed to her wounds later that day. Her sudden passing has left the Beaver Dam community in mourning.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
