MOSCOW, RUSSIA — The world of pageantry and modeling is mourning the untimely death of Kseniya Alexandrova, former Vice-Miss Russia 2017 and a Miss Universe contestant, who passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 30. Her death came more than a month after a horrific car accident on July 5, in which an elk crashed through the windshield of the vehicle she was traveling in, causing severe head injuries.
Alexandrova, seated in the passenger seat of a Porsche Panamera driven by her husband, suffered traumatic brain injuries when the elk struck the car. She fell into a coma immediately following the impact and remained unconscious until her passing. Emergency medical teams transported her to Moscow’s Sklifosovsky Research Institute, but despite intensive care, she could not recover.
Born on November 12, 1994, in Moscow, Alexandrova rose to prominence in the Russian fashion industry, earning the title of Vice-Miss Russia in 2017 and representing her country at the Miss Universe pageant. Beyond modeling, she was academically accomplished, holding degrees in Finance and Psychology and working as a certified psychologist and psychodrama therapist.
Alexandrova had recently married her husband, Ilya, in March 2025. The sudden and violent nature of the accident has left her family, friends, and the pageant community devastated. In recounting the incident, her husband described the moment the elk struck as instantaneous: “From the moment it jumped out to the impact, a split second passed. I didn’t have time to do anything. Everything was covered in blood.”
