Milledgeville Community Mourns Loss of 25-Year-Old Restaurant Manager Killed Outside Buffalo Wild Wings

A tragic shooting outside a popular Milledgeville restaurant has left a young manager dead and two men detained, marking one of the most disturbing acts of workplace violence the community has seen in years.

Authorities say the incident happened on Saturday evening, August 23, 2025, in the employee parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings, located in the Milledgeville Mall shopping center off North Columbia Street. Police received a call around 6 p.m. reporting an altercation between two employees. While officers were on their way, the call was upgraded to a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 25-year-old Nytavious Stone, the restaurant’s manager, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Stone, well-known and respected by many in the community, was immediately treated by Milledgeville Fire Rescue and Atrium Health EMS personnel. He was rushed to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin hospital but was pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m., according to Baldwin County Deputy Coroner Tonya Joiner.

Maj. Linc Boyer of the Milledgeville Police Department explained that Stone and one of the restaurant’s employees had engaged in an argument that escalated into a physical fight. The confrontation spilled into the parking lot, where the employee’s brother arrived during the struggle. At some point during the altercation, shots were fired, fatally wounding Stone.

Authorities have not confirmed who fired the shots. “And this is the part we’re not sure about at this time, but at some point a short time later, gunshots were fired,” Maj. Boyer said.

Within minutes of the shooting, Officer Jalen Webb stopped a vehicle behind the mall and detained two men, including the employee who had been involved in the initial fight with Stone. Both were transported to police headquarters for questioning. Their identities have not been publicly released as investigators continue to piece together the events that led to the manager’s death.

The restaurant closed early on Saturday evening as crime scene investigators, including detectives and commanders, combed the area for evidence. An autopsy for Stone is scheduled for Monday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Stone’s passing has shaken Milledgeville, where he was regarded not only as a dedicated worker but also as a familiar face in the community. His sudden and violent death has left colleagues, friends, and customers reeling.

Police have urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Milledgeville Police Department at 478-414-4000 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers.
