LONDONDERRY, Vt. — Vermont State Police have identified the victim in a suspicious death investigation in Londonderry as 31-year-old Angelica Barbour of Brattleboro. Authorities say Barbour was transported to the emergency department at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington on Friday, August 22, 2025, with a significant head injury. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington conducted an autopsy and determined that the cause of Barbour’s death was blunt force trauma to the head and neck. However, officials emphasized that the manner of death remains pending, as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances that led to the fatal injury.
State Police say the incident that brought Barbour to the hospital originated at a residence on Vermont Route 11 near Thompsonburg Road in Londonderry. Authorities have not yet released details on what occurred inside the home, but the case has been classified as suspicious.
According to Bennington Police, a person of interest was taken into custody in connection with the investigation but has since been released. Law enforcement officials did not provide additional information on that individual’s involvement, citing the ongoing nature of the case.
The Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit, along with detectives from the Westminster Barracks, continues to lead the investigation.
