The hockey community is grieving the sudden passing of Xavier Rasul-Jankovics, a young athlete whose impact reached far beyond the rink. Known for his dedication, leadership, and infectious personality, Xavier left a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, and friends alike.

Remembered as the “definition of a great teammate,” Xavier embodied the best of the sport—hard work, selflessness, and compassion. Whether playing in key matchups or quietly lifting up others during difficult times, his presence was a source of encouragement and joy. His smile, sense of humor, and easygoing nature lit up locker rooms and arenas wherever he went.

The BW and Jr. Grizzlies/Wildcats program paid tribute to Xavier, stating: “We are heartbroken by the loss of Xavier. He was hardworking, selfless, and full of heart. His leadership and character left an impact far beyond the ice, and his legacy will always live on through our program. We will miss you forever, Xavier.”

In response to his passing, the hockey community has united in tribute. Sticks are being placed outside homes and rinks in his honor, while the hashtag #11KP—a nod to his jersey number—has spread widely across social media as friends, teammates, and supporters share memories and messages of solidarity.

The Kerry Park Minor Hockey Association, where Xavier grew both as a player and as a person, expressed deep sorrow while emphasizing the importance of community. His family, though devastated, has encouraged programming to continue, recognizing that time at the rink offers comfort and connection during this difficult period.
