Deputies from the Panola County Sheriff’s Office, Constable Precincts 2 and 3, the Beckville Volunteer Fire Department, and UT Health EMS immediately responded to the distress call. Upon their arrival, they found young Jose with a critical gunshot wound while loved ones frantically performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save him.

First responders worked tirelessly to render aid, but despite every effort, Jose succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His passing was later confirmed by the Justice of the Peace, who responded alongside investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
