The film and television communities in Atlanta, Georgia, and her hometown in Jefferson County, Tennessee, are mourning the tragic loss of Amy Blanc Lacy, a highly respected script supervisor, mentor, and devoted mother, who died following a car accident on September 1, 2025.
Amy was traveling with her two beloved sons, Adrian and Oliver, when another vehicle struck their car at high speed. While her boys sustained minor injuries and have since been released from the hospital, Amy suffered catastrophic brain and spinal trauma. Despite the best efforts of doctors and days on life support, her injuries proved fatal. On September 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, Amy passed peacefully, leaving behind her family, friends, and an entire creative community heartbroken by her loss.
A Career of Passion and Excellence
Amy’s journey in the film industry reflected her creativity, discipline, and devotion to storytelling. She earned an MFA in David Lynch Screenwriting and Meditation at Maharishi International University, where she deepened her ability to combine artistry with meaning. She also studied editing at UCLA and went on to specialize in script supervising—a field where she quickly built a reputation for excellence.
As a proud member of IATSE Local 161, Amy was admired for her meticulous attention to detail, her professionalism, and her collaborative spirit. Colleagues recall her as someone who uplifted every production she worked on, balancing technical expertise with warmth, encouragement, and mentorship. Many in the industry credit Amy with not only improving the quality of their projects but also making the work environment more joyful and supportive.
A Devoted Mother and Loving Spirit
Although Amy loved her career, her greatest passion was being a mother. She poured her heart into raising Adrian and Oliver, encouraging their creativity, resilience, and individuality. Friends say that Amy’s love for her children was boundless and that her pride in them was evident in every conversation.
Those closest to Amy remember her as a vibrant, compassionate, and generous woman. She had a gift for making people feel cared for, welcomed, and seen. Her love of animals and nature shaped much of her life, and she was known for her humor—often laughing about her playful dislike for ticks despite her otherwise deep love for the natural world.
A Final Gift of Life
Even in her passing, Amy continued to embody her values of compassion and generosity. As an organ donor, her decision has already provided lifesaving transplants and critical healing for more than 46 individuals. Through this extraordinary act of selflessness, her legacy of love and giving will live on for generations.
Honoring Her Memory
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, from 2–5 p.m. at her Atlanta home, where friends, family, and colleagues will gather to share stories, honor her life, and celebrate the joy she brought into the world. A private green burial with her family will take place on Sunday, September 7. Additional gatherings will be arranged in the future so that all who knew Amy can reflect on her extraordinary life and legacy.
Amy’s family has expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of prayers, love, and support during this profoundly difficult time.
A Life of Love and Laughter
Amy lived by two guiding mottos: “Always Be Loving. Always Be Laughing.” Those words reflected the very essence of who she was—a woman who brought kindness, light, and joy into every space she entered. Her spirit will live on in the lives of her children, in the stories told by her colleagues, and in the countless lives she touched through both her work and her love.
Though her loss is immeasurable, Amy Blanc Lacy’s legacy of compassion, laughter, and inspiration will endure forever.
