COLTON, Calif. — The Inland Empire community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Riverside resident Collin W. Geist, whose body was discovered in Colton on Monday, August 4, 2025. Authorities say the death appears to be a suicide.
According to the Colton Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after receiving a call about an unresponsive person in a secluded area of the city. Emergency responders arrived on scene and pronounced Geist dead. Investigators confirmed there were no signs of foul play, and preliminary findings suggest his death was self-inflicted.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has taken over the case and will conduct an autopsy and toxicology tests to confirm the official cause and manner of death. While the investigation remains technically open, police have emphasized that no criminal activity is suspected.
