Francine Preskar Obituary – Family and Friends Remember 53-Year-Old Woman Killed in Tragic Car Accident


With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Francine Preskar, who tragically lost her life in a fatal accident on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 53. Her untimely departure has left her family, friends, and community in deep mourning, though her spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Francine passed peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by her devoted family. She was the beloved wife of Edward, and the proud, loving mother of their cherished son, Alexander. Her family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated her life to their happiness, nurturing them with endless love and devotion.

Born to Amalija and Karl Preskar, Francine was a treasured daughter who filled her parents’ lives with warmth and joy. She was a caring sister to Lillian (Jesse) and Dave (Joyce), building lifelong bonds rooted in love, support, and loyalty.

Francine was also adored by her nieces and nephews—Cassidy, Hannah, Edyn, Bridger, and Lochlan—who will always remember her for her laughter, encouragement, and unwavering guidance. She was deeply loved as well by her in-laws, Ian and Anne Mole, her brother-in-law David (Jessica), and brothers-in-law Matthew and Andrew, each of whom shared in the gift of her kindness and generosity.

Her life was defined by compassion, selflessness, and a genuine love for others. Francine had a profound ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She also had a deep affection for animals, particularly her loyal dog Zima, who was her constant companion. Her dedication to animal welfare reflected her nurturing heart and her belief in caring for all living beings.

Professionally, Francine was a highly respected Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Her patients valued not only her skill and professionalism but also her gentle spirit and calming presence. She had a remarkable gift for bringing comfort and healing, and her work left a lasting impact on countless lives within her community.

A Funeral Mass in her honor was held at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 50 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill, on Friday, August 22, 2025. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery, where family, friends, and community members gathered to celebrate her life and say their final goodbyes.

In memory of Francine, the family invites those who wish to honor her to consider making donations to the Welland & District SPCA, an organization that reflects her lifelong passion for the care and protection of animals.

Though Francine’s life was cut short, her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will endure. She will be forever remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and healer whose light touched many lives.
