Gus Revenberg Windsor, ON Obituary, Cause of Death: Esteemed Auto Dealer and Community Leader Remembered

The Windsor-Essex region is mourning the loss of Gus Revenberg, a respected auto dealer, philanthropist, and community figure, who passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 77.

A Legacy in Windsor’s Auto Industry

Revenberg made his mark on the local business landscape when he founded Gus Revenberg Chevrolet Buick GMC in 1987, later expanding with a second dealership in 2009. For nearly forty years, he became a trusted name in Windsor’s automotive industry. Known for his leadership, humility, and integrity, he earned the admiration of employees, colleagues, and generations of loyal customers.

In a heartfelt statement, his dealership reflected on the impact of his passing:

“Gus was not only a remarkable leader but also a kind and generous man whose compassion and vision touched countless lives. His dedication to his community, his team, and his family will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.”

Quiet Acts of Generosity

Though successful in business, Gus was equally defined by his philanthropy. He supported numerous local causes—often choosing to remain anonymous in his giving. Friends and family recall that his generosity came from the heart, with no desire for recognition. Beyond work and community service, he found joy in life’s simpler pleasures, especially fishing and spending time with his horses at the barn.

Cherished by Family

Gus is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Gaynia Revenberg, and his siblings: Tony Revenberg, Lidwena Vuicic, Gemma Vandenberg, Aggie Zivanov, Mariette Russel, Jacinta Collins, Lucy Brown, Bernadette Revenberg, Theresa Stiers, and Jerry Revenberg.

Funeral Arrangements

A visitation will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home and Chapel, 1525 Highway #3, Old Castle, beginning at 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

In keeping with his spirit of giving, the family requests that donations be made to Harmony In Action in Gus’s memory, in lieu of flowers.

A Lasting Legacy

As Windsor gathers to celebrate his life, Gus Revenberg will be remembered as a man of integrity, compassion, and quiet generosity. His contributions to both business and community will leave an enduring legacy, continuing to shape and inspire long after his passing.
