The Incident
According to Columbus Police, the shooting occurred in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, in the 300 block of East 1st Avenue in the city’s Weinland Park area. Officers were dispatched to the residence shortly before 5 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Trowsdell was found in critical condition and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he remained under intensive care for several days. Despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. The second victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was treated for injuries and later discharged from the hospital.
Police Investigation
Detectives have since determined that the shooting was the result of a “non-intentional discharge” between family members, ruling out foul play or deliberate violence.
