About Naya
Born on October 29, 2009, in Lubbock, Texas, Naya Aprile was a bright light from the very beginning. She lived a life filled with curiosity, creativity, laughter, and love. A student at Alma Middle School before recently moving to Port Huron, Naya was eagerly preparing to start her freshman year of high school—a new chapter she was excited to begin, filled with dreams and new possibilities.
Naya was known for her bold spirit, her boundless energy, and her ability to light up a room with her smile. She had a deep passion for singing and dancing, and could often be found choreographing routines with friends or singing along to her favorite songs. Spending time with family and friends was at the heart of her joy, and her presence was a gift to those lucky enough to know her.
One of Naya’s favorite places was the family cabin in Lake City, where she embraced nature with the same adventurous energy she brought to every aspect of her life. Whether she was fishing, kayaking, swimming, or riding quads, Naya thrived in the outdoors, fearless and free. She loved challenges, welcomed new experiences, and found joy in the little things—like laughing around a campfire or watching the sunset on the lake.
She was also a true product of her generation—rarely far from her phone, capturing memories, connecting with friends, or expressing herself through photos, texts, and music. Her love for animals was another important part of her life; she had a gentle, nurturing heart that seemed to resonate with every creature she encountered.
Throughout her young life, Naya took part in various camps and programs that nurtured her many talents and interests, including Honors Camp, Horse Camp, and Mystic Camp. At school, she was actively involved in P.A.L. Soccer, was a proud member of Alma Cheer, and participated in jazz and ballet at the Academy of Performing Arts, where her confidence and grace shone.
