Police say the deadly incident unfolded just before midnight, leaving the community shaken and raising new concerns about violent crime in the area.

According to investigators, the woman was driving in Shreveport when another vehicle pulled up alongside her car. Witnesses told police that shots were fired into the woman’s vehicle before both cars collided, resulting in a crash. Responding officers found the woman unresponsive inside her vehicle with multiple injuries. Despite immediate life-saving efforts from first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting reportedly fled the scene, and detectives are working to determine whether the woman was specifically targeted or if the attack was a random act of violence.

Shreveport Police Department’s violent crimes and crash investigators worked late into the night, examining the scene, collecting shell casings, and reviewing surveillance cameras from surrounding businesses and residences. Detectives are hopeful that footage or witness statements may provide critical leads.

The shooting has left residents in the area deeply unsettled.
